There is a monster I believe
Right under my little bed
If I make the slightest noise
I may end up dead
…
He loves the taste of children
He’s got gigantic eyes
I have never seen him but
I know Mommy never lies
…
Mommy says if I grow up
The monster will leave me then
I am only seven now
And the clock seems stuck on ten
Love love love
My little guy is 3 and he believes there is a “mystery bandit” and I have to tell him I sent the “mystery bandit” home each night.

Reminds me of a few times I thought there were monsters when I was younger. Brilliant poem, Frank, you have an absolutely unique style! Oddly, your style reminds me of Shel Silverstein – one of my favorite poets as a kid. Actually, I still love his work. I am always eager to see what you come up with next, keep it up.

Thank you. Mr. Silverstein has been an inspiration for me. I love his work. I am glad you like mine in the same way

You are welcome, I am glad you also found inspiration in Shel Silverstein. You both share many similar characteristics in writing.

reminds me of a time when I was a child and was scared to go to sleep until someone told me it was past midnight…

Frank, I do admire you a lot. At present am writing with no direction just the joy of writing. My problem is I don’t have support from my family. Please, will you give me an advice on what should I do? I love to write but I just want to stay on the side without being noticed. please tell me what to do, I feel like am an idiot or something.

It is nice to hear that you are writing just for the joy of it. The most important part is that you should like what you write. Whether others like it or not is secondary. If your family doesn’t support you then talk to them and try and make them understand how important it is for you to have their support and how much this means to you. In the beginning it can be difficult to adjust to the idea of having your writings in the public domain and open to public opinion but I am sure you would love to receive feedback and appreciation for your work

Thank you so much, Frank. I hope he will understand. You are right. I love what I’m doing even I was criticized for it, it doesn’t matter because I found another reason to survive each day with a new hope in my heart. thank you so much for the encouragement and inspiration. The truth is its my hubby who is against my work. I have brilliant family whose in social media already but I tried to keep my silence about it. They knew that I’m writing.
