I changed the words to rock-a-bye baby. Don’t think anyone will pass that down either, cuz the words are only in my rocking chair, and my babes r just about men now 🤤
Never give up hope. Just keep singing he will hear it even if he falls asleep and it will be the first thing he will hear in his head in the morning. ❤
This one is really tricky. In a way it’s funny if the child fell asleep while the father’s singing. Another is that the poem is painful, as if the child will never be able to complete the song. (Just my own interpretation).
I can’t wait to sing to my children someday. Or play piano for them. My hope is that they feel comfortable enough to fall asleep to my voice/music as well.
It he will remember half and also the feeling of comfort.😊

I’ve been using the beginning four verses of Heathens as a lullaby (mostly to annoy my wife).

Never fear, he will remember – even if it is through an indescribable nostalgia when he hears the first strains of the lullaby.
