I think I am forgetting something I shouldn’t forget
I’ve marked it on the calendar but the reason hasn’t struck yet
Is it Anne’s anniversary? Is it Beth’s birthday?
Am I supposed to be at home? Or go out with Beyonce?
Am I supposed to be at Fred’s to catch a football game?
If I’ve stood you up today, I am not to blame
Blame it on my memory. It’s faulty and it’s frail
Storage is all well and good but retrieval is a fail
That’s what age makes you do. Everything goes astray
Oh boy I can’t remember just what it is today

If you had s date with Beyonce believe me your friends and love ones would not allow you to forget π

I have to reshare this as I find myself apologizing for my memory a lot lately. *cough* Plus, I played hide and seek with myself. I tried to quit. I donβt like it. But apparently I hide my keys from myself. Hide my shoes sometimes too. then I have to go find them. I tried to quit this game a few times but find myself playing it more often the older I get! Haha! at least I see I am not alone!

Ha, this one is great. The rhymes are wonderful and the flow is so good. It’s somehow classic but also contemporary with the humor about pop cultural things. Well done! π Thank you for sharing and thank you also for liking my post on Right Better. π

Happy birthday buddy. Also your words do seem to be pure and you gave one of the most difficult thoughts some form, though your reason is something you might like to contemplate. Good luck.
