To make her feel
My love was real
I called an army of men
To pick a stone
And build a dome
The greatest castle in the land
Deftly skilled
In the art of build
The army at my command
I marched them on
With a marching song
For the greatest castle in the land
No weathers last’d
A hundred summers passed
Everything went as planned
To my queen I told
Lo! And behold
The greatest castle in the land
She gave a cry
The roof touched the sky
She never’d seen something so grand
I opened the door
Gave her a tour
Of the greatest castle in the land
Every little corner
Brought delight to her
She tightly held my hand
Full of love
Like the heavens above
Was the greatest castle in the land
Joy filled our days
We knew no other ways
Only the angels could understand
How full of love
Like the heavens above
Was the greatest castle in the land
A hundred more summers went
With the time we spent
In the monument that still does stand
The sun still sings aloud
With the moon and clouds
For the greatest castle in the land
The seas may dry
Forests may cry
All knocks it will withstand
For it is full of love
Like the heavens above
The greatest castle in the land

It’s easy to build a castle in a poem with a happy end. But take away the inspiration and how hard will you land on this tiny planet.

This reminds me of the Taj Mahal or the Hearst Castle in California. Though now tourist attractions, one hopes the love that inspires them still stands.
