My Heart Knows A Silent Place

My heart knows a silent place

‘Tis lonely and devoid of light

There I find my peace and space

Twenty three floors but no staircase

Not a living being in sight

My heart knows a silent place

The thoughts are left for me to chase

The birds sing so quiet

There I find my peace and space

Devil presents his fruitless case

No God to match his might

My heart knows a silent place

No single memory to erase

Windows, they whisper all night

There I find my peace and space

I wear a mask and hide my face

The roofs, they leak of fright

My heart knows a silent place

There I find my peace and space

  1. Very good. I like the way you rhymed three lines to the sequence of the next three lines. Most of my poetry is not happy go lucky fund stuff. Most comes from a point of pain. I write to work through it. Sometimes it’s the pain of someone else that pulls emotion out of me. My music, too. Many posts have my music on them. I’m an improv keyboardist. I play how I feel and it is just what comes out. Thanks for finding the post I just published. I’m honored.
