Oh what a friend I found for me
A friend who will always stick with me
He talks to me all night and day
Only one thing he has to say
Tinnitus, Tinnitus, Tinnitus
When will I rid myself of your curse?
I know you like to chat with me
But can’t you see I’ve had enough?
As great and loyal as you may be
You have begun to irritate me
Your presence has brought on a massive change
I’ve had to improve my tolerance range
Tinnitus, Tinnitus, Tinnitus
Will I ever rid myself of your curse?
I know you like to talk to me
But can’t you see I’ve had enough?
I’ve heard that there’s no cure for you
I’ll need to spend my whole life with you
So let us now just make a deal
Every once in a while you please be still
Tinnitus, Tinnitus, Tinnitus
What have I done to bring your curse?
I already had voices in my head
You proved that there can never be enough

I so understand, Frank. My husband suffers from it.

It bothers and smothers the peace
And then never allows one to live in peace

My tinnitus has been with me since early childhood. Just signed up for a clinical study, want to join me? https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScEYG3mJpbH2fNyUYHbTecWEJmAXDIXuxl6GdBMCY3oB3Fu5g/viewform?gclid=Cj0KCQjw7ZO0BhDYARIsAFttkChViQughrACOUNftS5XMTER_cadtyTwDy7hMqg0BPuAU4IADzbj4LgaAnv3EALw_wcB

Perfect poetic description of this annoying affliction! A severe infection 17 years ago left me with tinnitus in my right ear. Sorry you have to deal with it as well.

Tinitus muy molesto. Creo. Afortunadamente no le padezco. Pero el poema muy logrado.

I’m very sorry. This sucks. I’ve been doing sound therapy. It hasn’t helped the tinnitus. But wearing a hearing aid in my worst ear, I haven’t had any more hearing loss. For now. I’m fortunate in that my insurance pays for one hearing exam a year.

What if your tinnitus was a voice inside your head of the universe telling you that you have been heard, and you have to decipher the message &/ language for yourself? [Like what you are doing now] 🙂
Very well put together poem, I also have this condition, I find if when I hear it, I try to look for something to do/solve. The same with noise, static and personal problems that I come across in the real world… if they are in my capabilities.
The noise inside often also dwells outside, but there have been far worse fates of people.

I would like to understand what this voice inside my head is trying to say but it all ever does it whistle 🙂

Best take the brain kettle off the stove then, it’s on over boil.

This piece speaks to me as I, too, have this annoying ringing in my ears! Beautiful entry, Frank 💜

I am amazed to know how many people share this weird annoyance with me. I thought it was a rare thing. Apparently, it is not. Take care, my friend.

Yeesh. I only know of it. My hub used to complain about it. Then he fell off the roof and cracked his head open. He’s not mentioned it since. His (minor) TBI seems to have replaced it. Could be worse??? Please don’t try the falling 20 feet onto concrete cure, is all I’m saying.

😂😂😂 I won’t try it. But I might risk either banging my head on the wall or writing about it on WordPress.

Beautiful poem 🤩 sometimes our tinnitus habit doesn’t bother anyone! If you have tinnitus then I have nothing to say 😁😁😁😄 then you are enough for yourself

It’s not great. I wake with it, and then it seems to disappear into the noises of daily life, as they begin. I’d rather be without it though. 😐
