While Waiting For A Train On A Tuesday Morning

I whisper sometimes to myself
If it is worth it
To give up a hundred happinesses
To avoid a single sadness

It makes me wonder to see
People sharing a part of their soul
With others; they make it seem so easy

Then I also reflect on solitude
That which makes a lot of people dread
Because it disguises itself as loneliness

I assure myself that I am okay
That solitude can be counted as a friend
That when others think I am talking to myself
I am actually conversing with my soul

  1. Life is interesting and every day is different. Some days we crave solitude, other days, we need people contact. Nicely written.

  2. Solitude can be a spiritual discipline. However, Father created us for community. Loneliness should never be accepted as the norm. When we find people to serve, we find fulfillment.
Being fallen in sin, though, we need times of solitude to be refreshed by our Creator.

  3. Solitude can be like a drink of cool water on a hot summer day. Refreshing and oh, so welcome. I enjoy my alone time quite a bit. Lovely work, Frank.

  4. If happiness doesn’t give you peace and that one sadness weighs heavily on your conscience, then it’s better to let go. Solitude is better if the company you have is even more depressing. Just my opinion. God Bless.
