I was walking home at night
When along came a hoodie-man
He put a knife to my neck
And asked me quite impolitely
To empty my wallet
I laughed in his face
Said — “You don’t need no weapon
Put down your sharp toy
And be away with my wallet
I don’t mind at all.”
He looked at me, surprised
Like he was staring at an ape
Then he grabbed my cash and fled
After shoving me to the ground
I continued laughing
I pity the poor thief
Not for his lack of wealth
But for his lack of understanding
About this world of deeds
And action and karma
This world seems so beautiful
Ever since I’ve met my guru
Who taught me to look at life
In a new and positive way
The way of karma
He says that I am judged
For each of my action
My good deeds will be rewarded
My sins will be punished
Nothing goes in vain
Now that thief who stole from me
And ran off with my cash
He cannot go too far
Karma will get to him
She always does
For seven days straight
The guy’s been robbing me
I laugh at him each time
For he doesn’t have a clue
That he is being judged
I’m nearly out of money
But that is not a worry
I’ve gained enough credits by
Not refusing the poor man’s demand
I’m Karma’s creditor
I don’t believe in criminal laws
The police is not for me
I only believe in my actions
My guru and the invisible force of nature
That is karma

Yes, you truly said.

I am a believer of karma.
I also don’t like to pay back evil for evil or take matters into my own hands.
I loved the piece

Hilarious, and yet not, quite a serious point.

Yes, Frank, I agree. Karma is much more powerful thank most think. It doesn’t always come back in the exact form that it is given but in a way that has the most impactful effect—good or bad. This is why we should always be mindful of our actions.

not sure I would go that far. I’m sure karma doesn’t need your money to work her justice, Frank…

It’s a satire, Jaye. For a chuckle or two 😁

Yes, we have to answer for all our actions. We can escape the police but we can’t escape karma. It is like a shadow that follows us everywhere until justice is done. It’s a dossier that we carry to the other world too.
