Thank you for teaching me
How to break a heart
How to kill the feelings inside
How to let go
Thank you for teaching me
That love could be temporary
That love could be impure
That love could be fake
Thank you for showing me
How to make false promises
How to lie to a loved one’s face
How to ignore someone
Thank you for proving
That I am stupid
That I am crazy
That I am weak
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you for everything
Thank you for nothing
I felt like I wrote this myself! So very relatable! Such impact in your writing! Thank you

Your poem makes me so sad. My partner of 20+ years died suddenly last year and, although we went through some very hard times (during which I learned a great deal about myself), he was my soulmate and the love of my life. I miss him deeply and am grateful for every moment we had together. I hope you don’t give up on love and that one day you’ll find your own soulmate.

Reading it…I thought that some lessons should never get taught😊

I can understand the poem. Not sure if I got this correct, but isn’t this a poem explaining all about passive aggressiveness after a break up? Once the questions are answered as to what is the deep seated truth, no one can hurt us. We hurt ourselves mostly and we can help peace settle in our lives when we have compassion towards others and ourselves.

True, in a certain way.

Yes, several people have taught me this lesson over the years, Frank.
I recognised the bitterness dripping from your words…

Sometimes it takes personal experience to drive home the lessons we wanted you to learn, but from our own experiences so you didn’t have to hurt.
