Love Is An Axe

Love is an axe
That mercilessly slashes through the bonds
Of friendships bound delicately and
Held together over the years

The sharp-edged tool
Cuts through relationships and
Leaves the loose ends stranded
Leaking aches endlessly

The friendship-wrecker
Shows no emotion
While swinging around, destroying
The fabric that made the host

  1. So true and relatable to your article as one of function of an age is “splitting and shaping ” delivering a more heavier and forcibly blow even more than some sword.
    Powerful poem and good read.
    Thanks for sharing and supporting.
Happy holidays to you and family.

  2. The 2nd last line- “… swinging around, destroying” (that makes me think of a wrecking ball, and obviously Love is. Also, it can be a double-edged sword. One side is what you are saying in this and other is the perks (which is vague)

  3. Amore è un’ascia
    .
    Amore è un’ascia
che tronca senza pietà i legami
    di amicizie legati delicatamente e
tenuti insieme nel corso degli anni

    Lo strumento affilato
    taglia le relazioni e
    lascia incagliati i nodi sciolti
    rende dolori senza fine

    Il distruttore di amicizie
    non mostra emozioni
    mentre si bilancia, distruggendo
il tessuto che ha fatto da padrone di casa
