A Bright Future?

When will I improve myself? Tomorrow
When will I chase my dreams? Tomorrow
When will I be happy? Tomorrow

Tomorrow. Tomorrow. Tomorrow.
Everything in life is suspended until that fateful day
It’s how my life is going
It’s how things are moving
It’s what I thought was right
But it’s not
It most definitely is the wrong approach because

My therapist, my astrologer and even my dog tell me that things are not going to get better for at least another ten years

  1. How does that saying go? “Don’t put off until tomorrow what can be done today.” My mother drilled that into me as a small child, and like this poem illuminates, following her mantra was as anxiety-producing as putting things off. I’m glad that as I get older, I’ve learned to find a balance a bit better. Excellent piece about the human condition, Frank!

  2. I especially loved the line about your therapist, astrologer, and dog all agreeing… when even the dog weighs in, you know life is sending a message! 😂
But jokes aside, you’ve articulated something so many of us feel: the sense of waiting for a perfect moment that never quite arrives.👍🏻💛🙏🏻
