All wise men fear love
They say love is for fools
I used to consider myself wise
And be proud of it too
But now I must exclude myself
From that elite group
For I am in love
I don’t mind now
Being called a fool
What I don’t understand
Is what’s it about love
That makes it so intimidating
Love is to be cherished
Passionately enjoyed
Sought and chased
Love is not to be denied
Delayed or rejected
Or turned away
Or fled from
Perhaps it requires the right person
To focus that love upon
Without the right person
Love may become something
To be afraid of
Having the right person
Is a luxury
On which no price tag
Can be placed
I am lucky to have you
You are priceless
You make me fearless
I want to keep being a fearless fool

Very well said 👍👍

That is really touching. You really got across how falling in love makes you feel and how it can change the way you see things.

Men fear not being able to be in control – usually total control. And they fear being looked down upon by Macho Men who think they are “Fools”. It’s an ego thing!

Wonderful poem, Frank, and how I agree with you. As the song goes, without love, I am nothing at all.
