The german word for
Flamingo = Flamingo (yep, it’s the same word)
Kiwi = Kiwi (same again)
Penguin = Pinguin (almost identical)
Crow = Krähe (not too far off)
Cuckoo = Kuckuck (Lol!!!)
Woodpecker = Specht (could have been worse)
Pigeon = Taube (um… okay)
Dove = Weiße Taube (Ah… I see)
Peacock = Pfau (we’re entering dangerous territory now)
Puffin = Papageientaucher (NO. FREAKING. WAY.)

I’m glad that I was born in and lived in Germany for 8 years. Es freut mich das du die Sprache mit deine freunden teilst. 🙂

Learning a new language can be difficult and amusing. Writing about it here helps me remember some difficult words 🙂

Love this new series. As someone who writes fantasy stories about anthropomorphic animals and often uses German antecedents in my characters’ name creation, I find this info both highly amusing and enlightening. Thanks, as always, Frank for bringing joy into my life.
