The Ungrateful Girl

I wrote a sweet song
For a girl I loved strong
But she just didn’t like it at all
The very next day
She called me up to say
That we had just hit a wall

But before I could speak
What I wanted to speak
She just hung up the phone
It was hard to forget
How she had loved me once yet
She had me left me now all alone

The wind was quite strong
I had to move on
Get over the ungrateful girl
So I took all of my work
Prayed for a little luck
Showed my poems to the world

I didn’t believe it a bit
My poems were a hit
Publishers kept calling all the time
Money tapped on the door
Fame lay on the floor
Everyone loved to hear my rhymes

Then one sunny day
My girl called up to say
She was sorry for what she had done
She began to weep and cry
And asked for one try
Well I just hung up the phone

A Strange Habit

I have this strange habit
But it’s not so strange at all
Everyone’s got a few of them
Some even have got them all
Molly counts her steps while walking
Terry crosses her fingers while talking
Joey cuts and then sniffs his toenails
Louie, every hour, checks his emails
Harry likes to sleep with his socks on
Jerry likes to wake up before dawn
This is just to name a few
I know you’ve got some of them too
Maybe you like to smell old books
Or every minute check your looks
Maybe you like to tap your feet
Or maybe you just like to keep things neat
You can have them all
Or you can have just one
I’m sure you’d find
No man with none
One strange habit that I have got
I like to observe strange habits a lot

A Geeky Girl

Back in school during Chemistry
A geeky girl used to stare at me
She’d stare and smile, flush and blush
She must have had quite a crush
She never came up or spoke to me
The geeky girl only stared at me
I’m not the kind who bothers a lot
I had a girl who was super hot
So she wasn’t something that bothered me
The geeky girl who used to stare at me
Years passed by. We went our ways
I forgot all about the ‘staring’ days
I broke up with my girl. She’s now a clerk
And I found myself some decent work
Lot of things faded from my memory
Including the girl who used to stare at me
Then one day while watching TV
Everything suddenly came back to me
It seems she’s joined the film industry
Yes, the geeky girl who used to stare at me
Time sure has changed her quite a lot
She’s now hotter than super hot
I spoke to three friends and they all said
She’s quite popular and very well paid
“You’re a darned fool,” said all three
“Ignoring this chic celebrity”
I banged my head and cursed my luck
Didn’t feel like going back to work
I’m a fool as fool as can be
Chucking the girl who used to stare at me
Now at night I don’t really sleep
I lie awake and think and weep
About what the future had in store for me
With the geeky girl who used to stare at me
And that forever will be a mystery
The geeky girl who used to stare at me

For A Chuckle Or Two

My poems are filled with nonsensical words
About hairy Harry and birdy birds
And all through the months from June to May
About the nonsensical stuff that come my way
Only one nonsensical reason this for me to do
To make you have a nonsensical chuckle or two
And if they brighten up your day or make you feel glad
Then my nonsensical words aren’t that bad
But if these words don’t drive away your blue
Then you’ve aged, you’ve lost your humour too
For what it’s worth I’ll then laugh at you
For I can still have a chuckle or two

My Daughter Told Me A Tale

My daughter told me a tale
Of fallen angels and unicorns
Of a sea child with a tail
Of sweet love under the sun
She spoke of a magic fish
Several clowns left to weep
But before she could finish
Well, I think I fell asleep
The sleeping pills they fail
No more nightmares I’ve to fight
My daughter tells a tale
I sleep well every night

Take A Fish Out Of Water

Take a fish out of water
Watch it tremble and shake
See his heart thirst for life
Soon his will is bound to break
But put that fish back in
Back in his resident sea
Watch him swim miles and beyond
As fast as fast can be
I am like that very fish
I need my environment
But put me in some other place
Nothing short of imprisonment
Each must strive to achieve
The water that suits their law
Find it soon before it’s late
So where’s my glass of water, Ma?

Charlie Williams – Part 3 (A Parody Of Jolene)

Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, Charlie
I’m thanking you for taking away my girl
Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, Charlie
She was about to devastate my world

Her breath is that of a giant bear
With dreary locks of unkempt hair
With dingy skin and eyes with crooked twirl
Her voice is like a bugle blow
Her smile is like the winter snow
Cold and harsh. A mean queen was my girl

She walks and talks in her sleep
I’ve often seen her cry and weep
As I read out to her a funny poetry
And I can never understand
How I can ever thank you man
For taking away a heavy burden off of me

Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, Charlie
Couldn’t thank you enough for taking away my girl
Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, Charlie
She was about to devastate my world

Now I could have my choice of girls
Buy them rings, diamonds, pearls
She just wasn’t the one for me, Charlie
I had to have this talk with you
My happiness is brought by you
And believe me now I owe you one, Charlie

Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, Charlie
I’m thanking you for taking away my girl
Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, Charlie
She was about to devastate my world

A Fan Mail

I finally got a fan mail
After longly seven years
It turned out to be no good
It was wrongly delivered

Off I Went To Cut A Tree

Off I went to cut a tree
For I was in need of wood
So I grabbed the sharpest axe
To chop the best I could
In a forest of hundred trees
I picked the strongest one
Just a few hours of trying labour
And my job be done
As I was about to strike
The first and fierce blow
The marked tree turned and looked at me
Warmly greeted me “Hello”
I pinched myself just to see
If I was dreaming in daylight
When the giant tree spoke to me
“Who did give you the right
To chop and cut as you please
With very little care
About the lives of our tribe
Like we’re a piece of spare?”
“I’m sorry if you think that way”
Quick came my reply
“I never knew that even trees do
Feel pain, hurt and cry
A few branches is all I need
What harm can it do to you?”
“In that case,” the tree replied
“Forfeit a finger or two”
Leaning forward the mighty tree
Tried to grab my hand
I dropped my axe and off I ran
Lest he’d have me panned
While I ran, I saw and found
The forest staring at me
With a shudder I made a vow
Never again to cut a tree

The Kids With Whom I Went To School

The kids with whom I went to school
Are all grown up and settled now
They’re all rich and fancy cool
But I can’t find a job somehow

They’ve got pretty houses with pretty families
They spend their days working earning tons of monies
So busy that they have no time to meet me
My cat and my poems make up my family
I never made it big in life so they think I’m a fool
All the darned kids with whom I went to school

But I’ve also heard that they’re too busy
To spend some time with their families
They barely get any time to even catch some sleep
So they lie awake at night. I know they quietly weep
They wear those tight masks and speak those white lies
Their hair are all grey and they’ve got baggy eyes
Their lives are full of stress and immense mental strain
They couldn’t even enjoy a single moment of rain

Sometimes I really wonder who’s the real fool
The kids with whom I went to school
They’re all rich and fancy cool
They’re all grown up and settled down
But I’m the one with the golden crown
