Peace, Peace, Peace

I walked around with a gun in my hand

Looking for Peace

Please, please, please

Would someone show me Peace?

I met a boy and I asked him

If he had any Peace

He said, “I only have a little drum for a toy

I play it all the time

It helps the day pass away

But Peace? No, Sir. I haven’t heard of that toy

You might as well go ahead and ask some other boy”

I went ahead with a gun in my hand

Looking for Peace

Please, please, please

Would someone give me Peace?

I met a young lady

Walking with her man

Happy and smiling

She must know Peace then

I asked her if she knew where I could find Peace

“Peace?”, she said, “I only know Stan

Why would I keep tabs about any other man?

But if you are looking for a lost friend

You might find him in that shrine

Everyone finds everything there”

I went to the shrine with a gun in my hand

Looking for Peace

Please, please, please

Would someone bring me Peace?

I looked around the shrine

There was nobody there but me

And my faithful shadow

Who refused to leave

The winds made the bells ring

My heart began to beat

I sat there with Silence

While I threw my gun away

My shadow left to grab it

Peace came to stay

Foxes In My Head

All the people that I tagged as friends

Are now laughing back at me

They stare into the distance

The distance that now is me

I don’t really have a companion

No solid shoulder to cry on

No one to hear my story

When I wake up lonely at dawn

Do I really even sleep at night?

Am I permanently dreamed?

I caught foxes in my head last night

While their mother quietly screamed

I don’t want someone to ask me

If I could see the light

Just someone to hold me in the dark

And everything will be alright

There are gaps between my fingers

That are too large for you to fill

You’d wake up smiling tomorrow

But I’d be crying still

There are holes in my heart

That are too large for you to fill

You’d wake up smiling tomorrow

I don’t know if I ever will

My Fiction Fairy

I cannot remove ‘Death’

From my dictionary

Peggy is my queen

My fiction fairy

My Name’s On Her Lips

She’s got me in the morning

She keeps me during the day

She finds me in the night

She doesn’t let me go away

My name’s on her lips

She blows through the window

She knocks at the door

She crawls through the mouse hole

She screams through the floor

My name’s on her lips

Her nails pierce my veins

Her eyes; my soul

Her nose sniffs my sins

My body, she controls

My name’s on her lips

My name’s in her thoughts

My name’s in her dreams too

My name’s on her list

“Peggy, is that you?”

My name’s on her lips

Peggy, Peggy, Come To Me

Peggy, Peggy, come to me

Tell me your secrets and set me free

If you want to know some secrets of mine

Sit with me till the end of time

Sit with me till the end of time

If you want to know some secrets of mine

Tell me your secrets and set me free

Peggy, Peggy, come to me

No Flying Throne

Sometimes I look up at the sky

And I don’t really know why

There is not a hero in me

The sun is high

I want it green

When my feet land on the soil

The ground doesn’t shake in turmoil

No villains, dark enemies, no

Evil plan to foil

No grandeur show

In my bed, I lie alone

No windy cape, no flying throne

Why does it have to be so quiet?

I’ll chase a stone

In the starry night

The King Can Do No Wrong

People climb atop a tree

They want to catch a glimpse of me

I’m the mystery. I’m the state

I’m your mistake. I’m your fate

Where you are is where you’d stay

I’m your God. Hear me say

The king shall live long

The king can do no wrong

Sing my song

The king can do no wrong

Watch The Snow Fall

Hail the prince now. The king is gone

The queen is over. Don’t you mourn!

I take a step into the holy land

I watch the rest take a coward’s stand

I’m your king now. I’m your song

I’m your God who can do no wrong

I’ll keep you safe as long as I can see

Fear in your eyes just for me

I keep the secrets deep in my sleep while the mothers weep

I feed. I breed. I need the winter’s seed

Hear the winds call out my name

It’s a shame. It’s a shame

You aren’t here to watch me rise

I left you breathing with bleeding eyes

I’m your story. I am strong

I’m your lord who can do no wrong

I’m your savior. I’m your song

I’m your God who can do no wrong

Bow to my might. I am right. With this light, I’ll get you through the night

Watch the snow fall upon us all, big or small. Watch it fall

There Is A World

There is a world

Where people are always happy

Where there are no worries

I do not exist there

This is my world

Where people are always crying

Where there is no light

I am the king here

The Final Poem

The stories were all told

Now they all just seem so old

Little pieces of my heart

All broken, but they call it art

All the years I’ve left behind

I will return home and call them mine

When you needed shelter in the night

I burned myself to be your light

When you needed to stay afloat

I drowned myself to be your boat

When you were standing in the midst of storm

I fought the cold to keep you warm

It is more than I can take

No more sacrifices I will make

Now I know what I have to do

This is the final poem for you

We may not be free and young

All our songs now have been sung

When was the last time that we laughed?

When was the last time that we cried?

Can we smile together one last time

Or just walk away with our pride?

When you needed shelter in the night

I burned myself to be your light

When you needed to stay afloat

I drowned myself to be your boat

When you were standing in the midst of storm

I fought the cold to keep you warm

It is more than I can take

No more sacrifices I will make

Now I know what I have to do

This is the final poem for you

I lie down empty on the floor

I’ve never felt so lonely before

I lost so much of my soul

But at least I got my heart back

I am finally out of my shell

Looking to be better than I ever was

Someday I will find myself again

My heart will be whole. There will be no pain

I’ll write letters to my heart

But not a word for you anymore

You and I, we both will dance

You with someone else. And I, with my heart

When you needed shelter in the night

I burned myself to be your light

When you needed to stay afloat

I drowned myself to be your boat

When you were standing in the midst of storm

I fought the cold to keep you warm

It is more than I can take

No more sacrifices I will make

Now I know what I have to do

This is the final poem for you
