They knocked at the door
I quietly let them in
Unaware of the chaos
They would bring within
…
They destroyed the furniture
Tore all the books
The fridge lay on the floor
The mirror called them crooks
…
They didn’t let me sleep
They danced all night
The house was pitch dark
They turned off all lights
…
Hours passed like years
Everything was upside down
It seems I had invited
All the nightmares of the town
…
I waited patiently
And watched the fading moon
The party was going to be over
Sun was coming soon
…
They packed their bags in haste
And were on their way
The screams and the scares
Weren’t here to stay
…
But before they left me for good
They whispered in my ear
They’ll be coming back tomorrow
When darkness would be near
Woah 😍 It is really amazing

I love the flow. I think you might get a needed urgency if you don’t rhyme. Just a thought.
