Don’t put that mask on too tight
It may never come off
Just say what you feel inside
It will be enough
…
What if there would be no tomorrow?
Would you leave with all the secrets in your heart?
Drive away all the pain and sorrow
Let happiness take a part
…
I know love is long overdue
But isn’t it unfair
When you do not let anyone come through
And become the mask that you wear?

Sad when the pretend image we project becomes who we are… Good poem!

Hi, i read your blog from time to time and i own a similar one and i was just wondering if you get
a lot of spam responses? If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or
anything you can recommend? I get so much lately it’s driving me mad
so any support is very much appreciated.

I used to get a lot of spam messages earlier but then they disappeared gradually. I didn’t have to do anything. It drove me mad too. It happened for around a month and then it suddenly stopped. So I guess you would have to wait for a while if you can’t figure anything else out. By the way, your comment was marked as spam. Funny thing

A lovely poem and so so true and aligns with the post you liked on my page – lessons from nature – revealing the truth within yourself.. I think it’s something you value and understand more as you grow older (well for me anyway..).

Alter ego, yes. Altered morality yes, the abyss of thyself YES. We become the hero and the villian at the same time. Where do we draw the line to be “Me”.. the self has to come off when “it” retires or it forces to retire us.

So true. We tend to become someone we are not.. being too protective and avoiding any access to real emotions hidden within us.

Lovely poem, I think we all wear masks at different times. Only when we’re truly comfortable do we really reveal our true selves.

Must be you’re familiar with an INFJ.

INFJ who?

INFJ is one of the Myers Briggs personality types. An intellectual introvert who is highly intuitive. These sensitive people wear masks all the time and often don’t know when they are because they become like second skin. Your poem was incredibly insightful, so I assumed you must know someone like this.

SOMETIMES THE TRUTH HURTS….BUT LIES HURT 20 TIMES WORSE….
I AGREE, IT IS WHAT IT IS, BE YOURSELF. WHY LIE OR PRETEND…IF YOU MUST DO THAT TO FIT IN OR IMPRESS OTHERS THEN THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BE TRUE TO YOU. I AM WHAT I AM..I’M GONNA BE ME REGARDLESS HOW OTHERS MAY BE! Good advice

A very kind poem . There are faces out there who may shed tears for this one. Masks do fall off at rare moments like reading this poem… you do it so well. No one was born with a mask , sometimes it is a bare necessity for survival.
Thanks for finding words for a voices that have no mask…..!
