Just Another Day

Just another day for me, just another day for you

Feeling lonely and blue

Should be ecstatic, excited and over the moon too

Feels like I’m over fifty-two

But I’ve just turned twenty-two

End, Nightmares Do Not

I had a dream
I fell in love
My friend asked me to be wise
“She’s just a devil in disguise.”
But my heart rose above

I had a dream
It was a new start
Nothing else mattered
All the barriers had been shattered
I had lost my heart

I had a dream
Like the one I’ve never had
Beautiful as it was
Every feeling had a cause
Troubled times lay ahead

I had a dream
She turned me against my friend
Swore under the sun
Asked me to choose one
Or she would spell our end

I had a dream
And a brainwash too
Didn’t think twice
Believed all her lies
What was I to do?

I had a dream
I killed my friend
Shot him while he wasn’t looking
Now I have trouble sleeping
For nights on end

I had a dream
More of a nightmare
It was without a doubt
She got the devil in me out
I see his face everywhere

I had a dream
Alone with my past
Safe from man and law
A murder without a flaw
But the curse had been cast

I had a dream
My fortunes took a turn
Lady Luck deserted me
So did she
They left me here to burn

I had a dream
The stage was set
My deeds had been weighed
My death-bed had been made
And they told me not to fret

I had a dream
They offered me a cup
They had a great laugh
As they cut my heart in half
And I never woke up

Theys-promised-that-dreams

Past Is Past

I burned my heart

Buried my mind

Your memories wouldn’t haunt me anymore

I’m leaving them far behind

Old Wine In A New Bottle

You stepped in a different world
Leaving behind the crooks and the worms
They warned you it wasn’t going to be easy
In no uncertain terms

It didn’t start off really well
You kicked off on the wrong note
They mocked your name around initially
They bid for you like a scapegoat

They pricked you and tricked you
And they kicked you really bad
Some even became your friends
Only for all that you had

They never let you breathe easy
They wanted to make you one of their own
They never let you reap the fruits
Of the seeds that you had sown

But you stood firm
And did withstand the storm
While everyone were running for cover
You maintained your form

And then they challenged you
Dared you to step into the ring
People looked on in awe
As you humiliated the king

It was time for celebration
Men from all corners came in to greet
Those who wanted to chop your legs
Were now kneeling at your feet

Women and children rejoiced
Tyranny for once did end
They saw a noble king in you
A companion and a friend

They’re telling tales of your virtues
How wrong could those children be?
No kinder soul had graced the land
But you did change eventually

It’s no mystery really
Nothing corrupts like power
The slightest wind can some day
Blow away the brightest flower

Maybe someday the sun will rise
And you can tell men and pig apart
They’ll continue to pray till then
For a king with a golden heart

Life of a Poet – Part 2

And I thanked her

For breaking my heart

I would have never been a poet otherwise

It’s A Para-Para-Parody

When she was just a girl
She’d repeat every word
But it flew away out of line
And her mother slapped her real fine
It’s a
Para-para-parody, Para-para-parody, Para-para-parody
Every time you repeat with me

When she was just a girl
She’d repeat every word
But it flew away out of line
And she ain’t talkin’ back this time
Life goes on, it seems so wrong
And in the end, she came to me
Every tear’s a waterfall
In the night the stormy night we did flee
In the night the disease caught, so repeat with me

It’s a
Para-para-parody
Para-para-parody
Para-para-parody
Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh
It’s a
Para-para-parody
Para-para-parody
Para-para-parody
Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh-oh

Lalalalalalalalalalala
And so lying underneath the stormy sea
I’d say, “oh, ohohohoh it’s a drag but repeat with me”

This could be
Para-para-parody
Para-para-parody
Para-para-parody
Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh

This could be
Para-para-parody
Para-para-parody
Para-para-parody
Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh

This could be
Para-para-parody
Para-para-parody
Para-para-parody
Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh

Well Well Well, Oh Well

I thought you were my friend and my best pal

But you pushed me straight into a well

You saw me cry, you heard me yell

But in your eyes

I saw the flaming hell

I thought you really loved me dad

You fooled me to think that you really cared

But you proved me wrong, so wrong instead

While I was drowning

You seemed so glad

I’m your son, ma. I’m your son, you know

You used to love me, or at least I thought so

You nurtured me and watched me grow

But when I needed your hand

You just let me go

I never thought I could love you as much as you loved me

The moments we shared were so sweet, my dear Peggy

How wrong was I to be eventually?

While others were leaving

You too left me

Well, well, well oh well

I thought they would cry

When I die

How wrong was I?

They merely scoffed

And passed me by

O’ Beautiful Friend

How much can you tempt me?

How much can you lure?

I’ll fall for you someday

Of that you seem so sure

Your charm is irresistible

Your love not so pure

I’ve had my heart broken ere

I still have found no cure

How much do I owe you

For teaching me a lesson

About life, love, treachery

Romance, truth and passion

And now it must end

End it must, without a reason

My heart is not so weak

That I could swear under the sun

There is very little doubt

You’ve been a good friend

Not every story has a happy ending

This is how we end

If you’re afraid of goodbyes

Just let things stand

Someday we’ll meet again

In a faraway land

Yes, Beautiful friend

This is the end

Summer Days

Summer days have come and gone

Left me shivering

I find myself alone

Half dead and withering

Have you lost your way

Amidst the pouring rain?

Feels like déjà vu

All over again

Stars used to be so bright

Till the tables took a turn

Now they watch me weep

Now they watch me burn

Little did I know

Nightmares do come true

Memories hurt so bad

When I think of you

Not one moment’s passed

Without you on my mind

Never thought you’d treat me

So cruel and unkind

I miss your warmth and hold

Never thought you’d turn so cold

Am I destined to be this way?

Am I dead or am I old?

So long so long

My fragile bones are calling on

You are just like those summer days

You too have come and gone
