If I Was To Die Today

If I was to die today

You’d have so much to say

Say that I was a good man

The greatest son of the land

But now he’s gone away

If I was to die today

If I was to die tomorrow

Drown yourself in sorrow

Sob and cry and drop your tears

Remember me for a trillion years

After I’m buried below

If I was to die tomorrow

If I was to die yesterday

There would be no time to play

Just take my time machine

The one you’ve never seen

Bring me back to stay

If I was to die yesterday

The Light That Shines In Me

When I’m lying in my bed

With a thousand thoughts in my head

Amongst the chaotic crowd

Only one thought stands out loud

The thought of you is stuck to me

When you’re not close to me

It’s a shame we have to be away

A moment seems so long today

You are the light that shines in me

The beat that my heart beats

The love that fills my empty soul

The love that makes me complete

Everything else seems so forlorn

I can’t seem to remember anyone, anything, anymore except you

Give me what I need now

I need to have you somehow

The cracks are there to let you in

This is the end where I begin

My story yearns for an happy ending

When stars are dead and sun’s ascending

Never to die or lose the way

A moment seems so long today

You are the light that shines in me

The beat that my heart beats

The love that has me in control

The love that makes me complete

You’ve got me feeling reborn

I can’t seem to remember anyone, anything, anymore except you

Lift me up to the sky

From this place where I do lie

Drop me down without a clue

And I’ll land right in the arms of you

For you guard my heart

Never let it fall apart

And I have no more words to say

A moment seems so long today

You are the light that shines in me

The beat that my heart beats

The love that fills my empty soul

The love that makes me complete

Everything else seems so forlorn

I can’t seem to remember anyone, anything, anymore except you

Life Of A Poet – Part 4

Losers weepers, finders keepers

Never say die. Let sleeping dogs lie

Live and learn. Walk before you run

Look before you leap. As you sow, you reap

Where there’s a will there’s a way

The mice play when the cat’s away

Grasp all, lose all

Pride comes before a fall

Curiosity killed the cat. Laugh loud and grow fat

Blind leads another blind. Seek and you shall find

Be clear if you know it

Confuse if you’re a poet

Strangers Like Before

We planned and we planned till we reached the end only to understand that what we had planned was not in our hands

Now we don’t plan anymore

We laughed and we laughed and it seemed enough but we knew in our hearts that it would be tough and destiny caught our bluff

Now we don’t laugh anymore

We played and we disobeyed like our love will never fade but we were afraid to be betrayed by a price too big to be paid

So we don’t play anymore

We talked and walked. We screamed and dreamed. We fought and sought. We had all the fun under the sun

Now we’re strangers like before

I’m Sitting Lonely At The Shore

I’m sitting lonely at the shore
Watching the waves crash
Some birds are singing melodies
Others make a dash
To the nearest ball of cloud
Stuffing up the sky
Fills my head with wonder
Spectacles my eyes
Though I have no one with me
I don’t feel alone
Nature is right next to me
And I feel at home

This Poem Wrote Itself

This poem wrote itself
I didn’t intend to
The fingers grabbed a quill
Dipped in ink of blue
The page was promptly filled
With thoughts in my head
The words they kept a-flowing
Though they were unsaid
Then the page was wrapped
Inside an envelope
And mailed it your address
With a lot of hope
I know this poem means nothing
But what am I to do?
It’s just a way of saying
I am thinking of you

Goodbye, My Friend

I was born free and happy. The day was bright and clear

Now I’m stranded and lonely. My heart’s full of fear

Tired of screaming, shouting, waiting for the end

So long, we’ll meet again. Goodbye, till then, my friend

My house is all broken and I’m lying on the street

All my little wishes and plans are left incomplete

Lost everything I had. There’s nothing more to defend

So long, we’ll meet again. Goodbye, till then, my friend

Something’s wrong about this world. ‘Twas never meant for me

I adore the open sky. That’s where I want to be

Can you hear the clouds thunder as they slowly descend?

So long, we’ll meet again. Goodbye, till then, my friend

Do you remember the days when we were wild and young?

Now they’re just memories of merry songs we sung

I wish I could be reckless but my body can’t pretend

So long, we’ll meet again. Goodbye, till then, my friend

All my little secrets are coming home with me

I have always known the truth but it never set me free

Just for another moment, every dime I have I’ll spend

So long, we’ll meet again. Goodbye, till then, my friend
