The Darkest Hour

The night has covered the skies

In eternal deceptive disguise

The winds blow the leaves afar

Waiting for the darkest hour

Is there a familiar face

In this cruel and haunted place?

Have I left behind a trace

Of shallowness and disgrace?

Is there a way out

Of all the confusion and doubt?

Hear me scream and shout

When I don’t know what this is about

Should I let the dark frighten me?

Should I just let the nightmares be?

It may be hard now for me to see

But I know the light will set me free

Waiting for the darkest hour

To come and reveal who we are

If the truth has flown too far

I’ll bring it back and let it scar

  1. I can’t tell you how much I love this. This definitely found a place in me…I’ve been here more times than I can count and each time, I found a piece of who I really am. Thank you for sharing. Peace and love to you.
