I’m not a poet but I wish to be

So I can write for you a poetry

And say — ‘Oh how my heart cherishes you’

Instead of a simple — ‘I love you’

If you see someone crazy

Jumping up and down

Know that fool’s in love

A new joker in our town

…

If you see someone stupid

Dancing like a child

Know that fool’s in love

A love passionate and wild

…

If you see an idiot

Smiling at the skies

Know that fool’s in love

It’s so clear in their eyes

…

If, on the streets, you see me

Acting like I’ve wings

Know that I’m in love

Doing foolish things

Don’t look up

The light will blind you

Don’t look down

You’ll only see shadows

Look at me, just look at me

You’ll see all that you need to see

You love me in the morning

When all is fresh and new

Every passing moment seems brighter

For the sky is turning blue

You will love me in the noon

When bees hover over flowers

Nature will be at her finest

The sun will be in his powers

But will you love me in the eve

When flowers drop their heads

Cold winds begin to blow

Over the frail and the dead?

And will you love me in the night

When darkness encompasses you

When it is difficult to see

Even a love that is true?

I lost my way on the path of love

From running way too hard

Here and there and everywhere

With complete disregard

To the shoes and sanity

That one must have and wear

For the first were torn and worn

The second needed repair

Then you came and grabbed my hand

Directed me the right way

Pulled me from the dark of night

Into the bright of day

You gave me a new pair of shoes

One called Faith, the other Trust

And asked me to run along with them

I’d never felt such a thrust

Now I need to run no more

I merely stroll and walk

For I have you for company

To chatter and to talk

Away on the path of love

Me and you and you and me

Moving on towards our home

As happy as we could be

Time is a millipede

When you are not here

Moving forward slowly

Despite a hundred feet

If you ask me why I love you

I would ask for a day

For all the reasons there are

Would take hours to say

Tell me baby

What are we supposed to do at all?

Is everything a reminder that we might fall?

I’m not worried

Or may be I just don’t show it

Because what the future holds — I don’t know it

Tell me baby

Where’s that smile gone from off your face?

Let not tomorrow clamour what this day says

I will be here

Whether it’s rain or fog or snow or mist

You’re the reason why I and Love exist

…

Tell me baby

Is this what really love is?

It can’t be much different from what this thing is

You know I love you

Till heaven is filled with love and it shatters

You love me too and it’s all that matters

Oh your heart is so big

That I could fit an Eiffel Tower

But for now all I’d do

Is place myself in your power
