Let’s start with the easy ones:

The designer is called der Designer
The DJ is called der DJ
The journalist is called der Journalist
The reporter is called der Reporter
The pilot is called der Pilot
The boss is called der Boss

Let’s make it a little tricky:

The cook is called der Koch
The policeman is called der Polizist
The postman is called der Postbote
The mechanic is called der Mechaniker
The electrician is called der Elektriker
The architect is called der Architekt
The musician is called der Musiker
The programmer is called der Programmierer
The gardener is called der Gärtner
The author is called der autor

Now let’s get to the tough ones:

The teacher is called der Lehrer
The doctor is called der Arzt
The waiter is called der Kellner
The lawyer is called der Anwalt
The farmer is called der Bauer
The poet is called der Dichter

Now let’s make it more difficult:

The employee is called der Angestellter
The writer is called der Schriftsteller
The actor is called der Schauspieler
The salesperson is called der Verkäufer
The accountant is called der Buchhalter

The german word for
Flamingo = Flamingo (yep, it’s the same word)
Kiwi = Kiwi (same again)
Penguin = Pinguin (almost identical)
Crow = Krähe (not too far off)
Cuckoo = Kuckuck (Lol!!!)
Woodpecker = Specht (could have been worse)
Pigeon = Taube (um… okay)
Dove = Weiße Taube (Ah… I see)
Peacock = Pfau (we’re entering dangerous territory now)
Puffin = Papageientaucher (NO. FREAKING. WAY.)

The german word for
Bison = Bison (yep, it’s the same word)
Wolf = Wolf (same again)
Bear = Bär (almost identical)
Fox = Fuchs (not too far off)
Skunk = Stinktier (they didn’t leave any doubt, did they?)
Hedgehog = Igel (I prefer the german word; it’s simpler, easier and it doesn’t twist your tongue)
Deer = Hirsch (um… okay)
Ibex = Steinbock (Not all words are going to be comparable)
Bat = Fledermaus (we’re entering dangerous territory now)
Squirrel = Eichhörnchen (pronunciation has left the chat)
