When The Lions Roar

When the lions roar and the horses neigh
The cats and cows come out to play
The foxes come out of their boxes
While the chickens run the other way

When the crickets sing and the cuckoos coo
The goats and geese go back to zoo
The giraffes have a hearty laugh
While jumping with a kangaroo

Daddy’s Car

Daddy’s car goes vroom vroom vroom
Daddy’s car goes zoom zoom zoom
Daddy’s car flies into space
Daddy’s car wins every race

Daddy’s car drops me to school
Daddy’s car makes me look cool
Daddy’s car has no speed limit
Covers a thousand miles a minute

Daddy’s car has the latest devices
It can shrink and rise in sizes
Daddy’s car flies like a rocket
Daddy’s car can fit in my pocket

Daddy’s car went missing last year
It was there but then it disappeared
Daddy’s now full of sorrow and strife
While I am having the time of my life

A Lion’s Cub Went To A Club

A lion’s cub went to a club
To dance with a vixen’s son
All the chimps caught a glimpse
Of the fun that had begun
In jumped a rabbit who had a habit
Of ruining everyone’s night
He wildly bounced with the drunken hounds
Till all the beasts were out of sight

Flip-flops

Flip, flop; my flip-flops flop
My flip-flops flip and flop
Drip, drop; the raindrops drop
The raindrops drip and drop

Puffy

Some clouds are filled with water
Some clouds are full of snow
But I am filled with magic
Wherever I may go
Ho ho ho
Oh oh
Ho ho ho

I float over the oceans
I float over the lands
Wherever I be pouring
I’ll be making friends
Ho ho ho
Oh oh
Ho ho ho

Sometimes I’m swell and puffy
Sometimes I shrink my size
Sometimes I have my party
Sometimes it’s just the skies
Ho ho ho
Oh oh
Ho ho ho

I often dance while flying
I often blow and swing
Wherever I am going
I’d be sure to sing
Ho ho ho
Oh oh
Ho ho ho

A Club Made Just For Me

They kicked me out of office
They kicked me out of home
They kicked me like I’m kick-y
I find myself alone

They kicked me out of parties
They kicked me out of pubs
They kicked me out of circles
I had to build my club

A club that’s fresh and lively
A club that feels like home
A club made just for me
A club where you can’t come

The membership is frozen
You have to face the snub
Only one could revel
In an all-exclusive club

I don’t need no parties
I don’t need no pubs
I don’t need no circles
I’ve got my loyal club

My Math Teacher

I am stronger and braver than most
I ain’t afraid of any ghost
But put my math teacher in front of me
I’ll wet my pants most certainly

Dull Son

I wouldn’t mind if he went out
With his friends to play some ball
And came back home quite late at night
Bruised or injured from a fall

It would be great if he went to a bar
Or a library to play some chess
And came home talking variations
About which I couldn’t care less

But I do mind that he stays home
With his phone always in his hand
Acts like nobody else exists
This behaviour I can’t understand

A couple of days ago I
Locked him in his room upstairs
Thought it would bring him to his senses
Turns out he’s totally unaware

Embarrassing Son

He’s goofy, clumsy and a geek
He comes home crying once a week
Is he gonna improve? I doubt it
I asked my wife if we could
Put him up for sale for good
She said she would have to think about it

Genius Son

To call me a fool would be unwise
I’ve got a little brain above my eyes
I understand maths and its quirks
And I know how the universe works
But there’s someone I am aware
Who knows more than his fair share
He’s not a typical nerdy gun
He is but my genius son
On every topic he knows more
Things I’ve never even heard before
On plain things he gives a new view
Baffles his scientist mother too
Talks very little, keeps in his room
Shows no joy or any gloom
Every time I look at his face
A hundred thoughts I can easily trace
Does his chores, cares not for school
Thinks education makes one a fool
I would’ve argued but I fear
How stupid he would make me appear
So I let him fulfil his heart’s desire
As long as he doesn’t set the house on fire
