I never believed them
When they spoke
Of how passionate
Their hearts had become
At the touch of romance
I never believed them
When they mentioned
How silly they had acted
Every time the object of
Their affections appeared
In front of them
I never believed them
When they said they saw
That special face
Everywhere they went
I never believed them
When they described
What heaven must feel like
I never believed them
When they talked about
The madness of it all
It all seemed like passages
Lifted from a twopenny novel
Of an era long gone by
I never believed them
I never believed them
I never believed them and it’s true
I never believed them
I never believed them
I never believed them until I met you

Everyone Says It’s Love
I see your face
In the clouds, the moon
In the flowers of afternoon
In the pebbles, the rocks
In the concrete pavement blocks
In the sands, the stars
In the strumming of guitars
It’s love, love, love
Everyone agrees
It’s called pareidolia
My doctor disagrees
