Untitled #8

Whenever Dad goes out to shop
He performs his routine skip and hop
I ask him why; he says, “Billy,
Everyone must sometimes act silly.”

The Donkey Of Vengeance

There is a little donkey
Who travels around the world
I don’t quite know his name
People lovingly call him Vendy
He appears at your door whenever you need him
Go close to him
Whisper in his ears
He’ll carry your whisper to its destination
In a sack laden on his back
It may take time or it may not
But he always delivers

Mother said I should stay away from him
Never wish it upon our doorstep
But something inside me had a yearning
The yearning was intense
I did beckon him to our doorstep
Once
Maybe twice
Maybe a lot many times
I like him
He brings a lot of joy

Daddy’s Car

Daddy’s car goes vroom vroom vroom
Daddy’s car goes zoom zoom zoom
Daddy’s car flies into space
Daddy’s car wins every race

Daddy’s car drops me to school
Daddy’s car makes me look cool
Daddy’s car has no speed limit
Covers a thousand miles a minute

Daddy’s car has the latest devices
It can shrink and rise in sizes
Daddy’s car flies like a rocket
Daddy’s car can fit in my pocket

Daddy’s car went missing last year
It was there but then it disappeared
Daddy’s now full of sorrow and strife
While I am having the time of my life

Sick Leave

It’s crippling, it’s suffocating
It’s not a fever
I look fine on the outside
Nobody can tell if something’s off
But something is off
Sometimes it feels that everything is off
Everything is a trap
Everyone is against me
Mocking me, tricking me, ridiculing me
They want to harass me because I am different
Because I am not like them
I am inferior, or made to feel so
I am happy with myself but that isn’t enough
I am expected to be a rat
Smell and find cheese, and bring it back to the lair
Cheese doesn’t excite me
I cannot even smell that well
I cannot be a rat
I am happy being a worm
Crawling slowly towards my destiny
Edging closer and closer to my goals
I can be crushed easily
Or I can wriggle my way out of trouble
I guess all worms feel that way in a rat’s world
It’s not fever though
I cannot take a sick leave for this

Your mother and brother too
Your friends and the rest of the family
Your pet cat and kangaroo

How do I sign up for your love?
Your love your love your love
How do I sign up, my love?

I know you treat your members fair
But I’d want more from my share
A little bonus wouldn’t be bad
Come on, girl; make me glad

Where do I sign up for your love?
Your love your love your love
Where do I sign up, my love?

I’m looking for a lifetime subscription
Plus a premium membership
I’m willing to pay whatever it takes
For this priceless partnership

How do I sign up for your love?
Your love your love your love
How do I sign up, my love?

Finding a good deal is always tough
I’m sure your love would be enough
No other offers I need to see
Once you lay the contract for me

I Know

I know I love you because
I think about you even when I’m not trying
To think about you; I’m dying
To be around you; I’m flying
In the clouds with you; I’m sighing
When I’m not with you; I’m lying
To see a smile on you; I’m crying
When the moment is through; my undying
Affections for you are implying
That I love you

Never Vacuum Your Heart

Promise me
You’ll never vacuum your heart
Never discard my love
Never scrap my affections
Never trash my memories
Or ever bin my emotions

If my love litters your heart
Let it remain so
Let it be untidy, unclean
If you ever clean it
I’ll make it messy again

A Lion’s Cub Went To A Club

A lion’s cub went to a club
To dance with a vixen’s son
All the chimps caught a glimpse
Of the fun that had begun
In jumped a rabbit who had a habit
Of ruining everyone’s night
He wildly bounced with the drunken hounds
Till all the beasts were out of sight

Who Is Death?

Is Death your friend?
Will you go to her in your hour of need?
Is Death your partner?
Does she lay by your bedside and haunt you throughout the night?
Is Death your sister?
Does she play with you?
Is Death your pet?
Do you play with her?

Is Death your saviour?

He dreamed more than he should have dreamt
He lived in a world of his own
He never knew the aches of loneliness
Though he lived and died alone
