When The Lions Roar

When the lions roar and the horses neigh
The cats and cows come out to play
The foxes come out of their boxes
While the chickens run the other way

When the crickets sing and the cuckoos coo
The goats and geese go back to zoo
The giraffes have a hearty laugh
While jumping with a kangaroo

Run

Run, run
Run, run, run
All day long we run and run
From A to Z
From here to there
From dawn to dusk
No time to spare

Run, run
Run, run, run
No time to lose
No time for fun
Even though we run, run, run
No single work is ever done

Run, run
Run, run, run
Hurry up and catch someone
Don’t slip or trip; fall out of line
If you stop you’re left behind

Run, run
Run, run, run

Run

A Woman Is A Train

A woman is a train
She runs all day
Carrying the weight of a hundred legs

She makes no fuss
Even if you scratch her surface
Leaving a permanent scar

A woman is a train
Fast, slow, black and white
Walking on a stony path

She breaks down sometimes
Fix her up and she’ll be
Running in no time

A woman is a train
Iconic, magical, classy
Nothing to describe her perfectly

She offers you a seat
Making your life comfortable
Taking you to your destination

Untitled #9

Pick me up if I shatter
Glue me back to a whole
Hold me gently in your arms
Carefully handle my soul

Elude

The sun disappears beyond the horizon
The twinkling stars come out to play
The moon watches over from afar
The night is here and here to stay
I lock the windows for I fear
Not that someone might intrude
But what I have may well be lost
In the darkness it may elude
Yester-night she was here I know
The night before we chatted a while
Yet no trace of her when I awoke
Just the faint memory of her smile
Not tonight; she cannot escape
My locks and bolts she will not break
All through the night she’ll sit with me
To fill the void I will not wake

The World Is Snow

Every night when you go to sleep
Clouds come out from forests deep
They brawl each other blow by blow
When you wake the world is snow

Sepulchrum

Gray on green
Blue overhead with some white
Dressed in black
Brown all around with a tinge of red
Golden underneath

Untitled #8

Whenever Dad goes out to shop
He performs his routine skip and hop
I ask him why; he says, “Billy,
Everyone must sometimes act silly.”

The Donkey Of Vengeance

There is a little donkey
Who travels around the world
I don’t quite know his name
People lovingly call him Vendy
He appears at your door whenever you need him
Go close to him
Whisper in his ears
He’ll carry your whisper to its destination
In a sack laden on his back
It may take time or it may not
But he always delivers

Mother said I should stay away from him
Never wish it upon our doorstep
But something inside me had a yearning
The yearning was intense
I did beckon him to our doorstep
Once
Maybe twice
Maybe a lot many times
I like him
He brings a lot of joy

Daddy’s Car

Daddy’s car goes vroom vroom vroom
Daddy’s car goes zoom zoom zoom
Daddy’s car flies into space
Daddy’s car wins every race

Daddy’s car drops me to school
Daddy’s car makes me look cool
Daddy’s car has no speed limit
Covers a thousand miles a minute

Daddy’s car has the latest devices
It can shrink and rise in sizes
Daddy’s car flies like a rocket
Daddy’s car can fit in my pocket

Daddy’s car went missing last year
It was there but then it disappeared
Daddy’s now full of sorrow and strife
While I am having the time of my life
