Love Is Not A Fairytale

Love is not a fairytale
It’s a long struggle and hard pain
Only few can then survive
Reap the fruits for which they strive
Well our way is dark, obscure
Even we could never be sure
If at all we’d reach our goal
Where my heart will meet your soul
But I’m sure that while we’re here
Everything will seem so clear
Light will shine our whole path through
Then you’d know that I love you
So come and let us pass this way
We may not see the light of day
Love is not a fairytale
But true love, girl, can never fail

  1. I love the fact that while you have written about love not being a fairytale, it is still a magical read! It reminded me of a quote by Michel de Montaigne: “If you press me to say why I loved him, I can say no more than because he was he, and I was I.” Lovely poem 🙂
