Tell Me

Tell me the stars don’t shine
That truth can be confined
That love ain’t divine
And I’ll believe you
But don’t tell me that she is not mine
For I won’t

Tell me the sun is square
There’s no magic in the air
That God ain’t fair
And I’ll believe you
But don’t tell me that she doesn’t care
For I won’t

Tell me the birds aren’t free
Oceans are empty
God has no mercy
And I’ll believe you
But don’t tell me that she isn’t made for me
For I won’t

  1. So lovely. It’s refreshing when someone actually rhymes and meters something these days…. I could hear this as I read it. I read it to my friend sitting here, just now. It felt like lyrics, or a great slam poetry piece, or monologue.
