Sleep has deserted me
Tiredness lies on the bed
Nightmare is the pillow
On which I lay my head
Demons sing a lullaby
Dreams are unclear
Every night is a struggle
Wish you were here
Oh how I struggle with insomnia.
But I can never get it together to do anytrhing productive… until the other morning when I got up and walked down the street to the beach to photograph the dawn… watch this space.
Great post and poem and one that will resonate with many bloggers! In my opinion one of the many plusses of blogging on WordPress is… anytime I struggle with sleep (usually between 3.30 and 5.30am), I use the time to read blog posts, and take time to comment or write new posts! I see it, as an opportunity a Create Space instead of a challenging or upsetting issue!
WOW, was the same and keep wondering what the significance of 3:30am, for many months I was not able to sleep or feel tired enough for sleep to come before this time.
Thank you for sharing.
My cold water showers are fixing mine though. Here’s to creating more space in writing👍🏾
Hi Life as Leisure, I’m delighted to hear you have found a solution! I don’t think, with freezing temperatures outside, that I fancy testing this solution at the moment! Let me know if you Create Space for more writing though…probably be contactable between 3.30 and 5.30am!!
Thank you for liking one of my poems. I read some of yours and I wanted to let you know that I really like them. I was wondering what your email was? I have some questions for you and I could not find any contact info.
This is great! 😊

my thinking is if you have nightmares and dreams are unclear, then sleep hasn’t entirely deserted you 🙂

Were I to write poetry, I’m sure I would attempt to echo your steps, your rhythm, your vistas of the world. As it is, I’ll just read yours, instead.
