I can’t wait to sing to my children someday. Or play piano for them. My hope is that they feel comfortable enough to fall asleep to my voice/music as well.
This one is really tricky. In a way it’s funny if the child fell asleep while the father’s singing. Another is that the poem is painful, as if the child will never be able to complete the song. (Just my own interpretation).
Never give up hope. Just keep singing he will hear it even if he falls asleep and it will be the first thing he will hear in his head in the morning. ❤
I changed the words to rock-a-bye baby. Don’t think anyone will pass that down either, cuz the words are only in my rocking chair, and my babes r just about men now 🤤

Yeah, I have a song I made up that I sing to the grandchildren when they are little to sing them to sleep.
