Liar, Liar. Pants On Fire

They said my pants will catch fire

If I grow up to be a liar

And a hard lesson I will learn

When I lead my pants to burn

But that warning never deterred me

Instead I took it quite seriously

And I sinned and lied and called names

Just to see if my pants caught flames

So I lied and lied and lied again

Till I entered a liar’s den

All my pants caught was dust

But my soul did combust

  1. This is great. Very clever way with words and poignant. I find it sad that anymore people won’t even think twice about telling a lie. I had fallen into that trap myself and trying very hard now, not to lie even over something that wouldn’t hurt anyone. Honesty is important. 🙂

  2. Reblogged this on Call to Witness and commented:
The Lord is patient, even while we keep on sinning against Him. He hope that we will see the error of our ways and repent. However, if we stubbornly hold on to our habits, not considering the consequences, the fires of hell will be our destiny and our pants and even our soul will catch on fire.

  3. If only people that did not lie could only pair with like minds.
Unfortunately we think because we don’t lie because it is so natural of course we think it comes as natural to those we love. It hurts so much more because we believe while they deceive and we believe hook line and sinker
