I wish I could write a poem
That will make your heart leap with delight
That will let you know how much I think about you day and night

I wish I could write a poem
And wrap it up and gift it to you
And put all my emotions in it such that they sound true

I wish I could write a poem
But my hands just don’t let me
I’m always looking for perfection but it just isn’t in me

…

I wish I could write a poem
That will give you wings to fly
So you can sail across the distance to meet me where I lie

…

I wish I could write a poem
That will say all that I want to
And amidst the darkness of silence, the light will shine through

…

I wish I could write a poem
And turn it into a song
With my guitar on, nothing could ever go wrong

…

I wish I could write a poem
That will put all our troubles to sleep
And bury it underground where all the dark secrets they keep

…

I wish I could write a poem
Exclusively for you
Then you won’t feel the need for me to say how much I love you

…

I wish I could write a poem
Sweeter than the call of birds
A poem that will make your heart melt with my words

I wish I could write a poem
As pure and innocent as it can get
I wish I could write a poem like that

  9. At one point, I told God I wanted to write songs, but my poems weren’t songs. Then, one day, I sang a song and remembered to write it down. Since then, I’ve written like fifteen songs.

    It turned out my poems weren’t songs, but my songs are poems. When I read this poem, I hear your heart sing. šŸ˜Š
